Postdoc position in chalcogenide MBE – Jaramillo group at MIT
The Jaramillo research group (jaramillo.mit.edu) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT seeks a postdoctoral associate in the area of chalcogenide MBE. This is an opportunity to develop new approaches to sulfide and selenide MBE, and apply the developed growth technology to one or more classes of materials including layered phase-change materials and chalcogenide perovskite semiconductors. It is expected that the position will extend for up to three years, pending the availability of funds.
Eligible candidates must be experts at MBE film growth. Ideal candidates will also have experience with compound semiconductors, complex oxides, hydride and metal-organic gas handling, vacuum plasma source development, and essential characterization techniques for epitaxial film growth.
Eligible applicants should send their CV, cover letter, statement of research accomplishments and career goals, two representative publications, and contact information for three references to Prof. Jaramillo at firstname.lastname@example.org. The research statement should be 1-2 pages in length and must include a description of a challenge in MBE film growth that the applicant faced, and how the challenge was overcome. Applications are also accepted through the official MIT job posting here.
